A Quick Look at Different Treatments for Cracked Heels
A simple cleaning and moisturizing regimen. Before going to bed, soak your feet in warm, soapy water for 15 minutes, wash and dab it dry. Create a mixture of one teaspoon Vaseline and lemon juice from one lemon. Rub this mixture on your feet mainly the cracked areas. Let the skin absorb this mixture. For best results, it is advised to do this every day.
Mixture of glycerin and rosewater applied on daily basis helps heal the cracked feet.
Exfoliating and scrubbing your feet is very important. Any build-up of dead skin on your feet would only exacerbate things. We recommend the use of a loofah or a pumice stone to do the scrubbing off of the dead skin build-up.
If at all possible, apply an oil-based moisturizer twice a day.
Show your feet that you love them – visit your nearest beauty shop to get a pedicure, or do so at home. If going to your nearest salon is beyond your capabilities, simply scrub your feet after washing them in a sea salt/water solution. Apply hand and body cream on your feet.
Mix 3.5 ounces coconut oil with three teaspoons camphor oil and three tablespoons melted paraffin wax. Apply this daily on your cracked heels before going to bed. Wash off the mixture in the morning and pamper with hand and body lotion.
Strawberry exfoliation explained in brief. Any type strawberries will do – about six or eight crushed, then mixed with a teaspoon sea salt and two tablespoons olive or almond oil (we need to be specific with these latter two ingredients), then mix into a paste. Apply this paste on your feet and use vigorous movements to improve blood circulation. After leaving the mixture on your feet for ten to fifteen minutes, rinse it off with warm, followed by cold water. You could also create a scrub from almonds in lieu of strawberries. Other scrubs can be prepared by grinding corncobs and walnut sheet (very useful for tough skin and hardened heels). The juices and oil from the different fruits and nuts helps to nourish your feet.
